AEESICQ AWARDS FOR
PEDAGOGICAL EXCELLENCE
6th
EDITION |
The AEESICQ contest recognizing
Pedagogy is running for the fourth time. With this event AEESICQ is
recognizing outstanding pedagogical activities developed by its
members.
Three winners will share a total
sum of $1,500.or $500. for each category i.e. one winner for each
category.
Any AEESICQ member,
holding a regular or special statute, is eligible for the awards. A
group of AEESICQ members is also eligible to participate in the
contest.
The activity (taken
in the broadest sense):
· must
have been carried out in 2008-2009 or 2009-2010 (2009-2010 will also
be eligible next year);
· is
not part of program revisions.
The project must
have been carried out within the framework of the member exercising
her or his duties, without having received special remuneration for
this purpose, or without being on full-time release for a session or
more.
The member who
applies for this award must send a complete file to the AEESICQ.
Applications may be
submitted by a member on her or his own behalf, or by another person
interested in promoting recognition of the work of a colleague. In
either case, the person submitting the application must:

get the
application form available on AEESICQ web site or by contacting
Andrée Bouchard at
info@aeesicq.org
.

submit at least
two (2) letters of support from students, from a colleague, from the
departmental coordinator, from the AEESICQ Liaison or from
representatives of the milieu, as the case may be;
-
provide a detailed
description of the activity; it is important to check off all
the items in the category before submitting the project to AEESICQ;ovide
the documents inherent to the activity.
A project can only be
submitted for an award in one category.
The jury will
consist of five AEESICQ members who are not candidate for the awards.
CONTEST CATEGORIES AND EVALUATION CRITERIA

DOCUMENT
Lecture notes,
course work, an audiovisual document or software. The document is
intended for teaching in Nursing.
Criteria:

Meets a need
(relevance of document);
-
Student or
colleague participation in development of the document;
-
Pedagogical
approach and dynamic methodology;
-
Quality of
language;
-
Presentation;
-
Content;
-
Document use and
spin-offs in the milieu.
In the case of equal
qualifications, the multidisciplinary nature and the originality of a
project will be considered in determining the best project.
PEDAGOGICAL ACTIVITY
Outstanding
learning experiences that took place within a member’s regular course, a
stage or a laboratory. These can be pedagogical methods or
activities of a particular class. The activity could also result from
teamwork by teachers, teamwork by teachers/ lab. technician or from an
activity involving one or several departments.
Criteria:

Meets a need
(relevance of activity);

Students
participation;
-
Pedagogical
approach and dynamic methodology;

Content;
-
Spin-offs in the
milieu: students, teachers, college.
In the case of equal
qualifications, the multidisciplinary nature and the originality of a
project will be considered in determining the best project.
CONTRIBUTION TO COLLEGE’S COMMUNITY
An activity or
project outside the normal framework of a course or a stage,
leading to benefits for the college or for the community.
Criteria:
-
Meets a need
(relevance of project);
-
Participation in
the project: teachers, lab technician, non-teaching; professionals,
students, etc.;
-
Spin-offs in the
milieu: inside the college;
-
Spin-offs in the
milieu: outside the college;
-
Pedagogical
aspects of the project.
In the case of
equal qualifications, the multidisciplinary nature and the originality
of a project will be considered in determining the best project.
